Title of the paper: Importance of the father’s figure in The Tempest

Abstract:

Introduction: The Tempest is a play that shows us the special relationship between a father and his daughter. However, Shakespeare represents in it different families and the father’s role each time will have a particular behaviour and symbolism.

Content summary: Prospero is in the play a God-like figure, a father that knows all the facts that happen and has domain over other characters. We will emphasize his role on each scene providing the details of his personality and the evolution that suffers.

Conclusion: Shakespeare raises through the happy ending of the play the question of self-identity, a quality that is inherited from your father.
